Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
